I feared a love like this - that made us incomplete without each other. Then he sighed and rubbed his cool cheek against mine. there's still romancey bits, but it's all just focused on fade, whose specific brand of damage is at least complicated and original enough for me to not roll my eyes. there's some unavoidable fallout from it that affects the events here, but this one is definitely focused on action instead of on boy-dithering. Thankfully, all the love triangling was left behind in book two. the first chapter has A LOT of kissing talk in it.īut then it ends with the line: When next I woke, the world was a blur of snarls and yellow fangs.Īnd i remembered why i liked this series. because i do NOT remember the previous books being so preoccupied with kissing. However, when i started this final book, i was a little apprehensive. bick who makes you work to reorient yourself, aguirre does a good job gently reminding the reader who may have taken a couple of years off from the series of the key events from the earlier books. I have no idea why i paused for so long with this series, because i remember loving it, but pause i did. ![]() This summer, the plan is to return to a bunch of YA series that i started and never finished for whatever reason. ![]()
